About Shri S. D. Limaye

Shri. S. D. Limaye has made outstanding contributions to major infrastructural engineering projects in the country. He was closely associated in vital planning, designing and implementation activities of the Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL); a megaproject of Indian Railways. Further, he also worked as Consulting Engineer – Bridges, Tunnels, Railways, and Metros. Shri. Limaye’s work has been recognized with several awards. Purpose of the award

Shri Limaye always insisted that the engineers should never miss opportunities which present themselves in their career. He always worked with confidence, clarity and sincerity of purpose and maintained integrity, honesty and professional ethics. He always gave prime importance to the team working spirit. To continue the legacy with which he worked, his family members wish to constitute an award for Excellence in Structural Engineering, in his memory. It honours individuals who have demonstrated excellence, innovation and leadership in structural engineering, significantly contributing to the field. ICI Pune Centre is the facilitator.
